‘supports the Lough coming into public ownership; calls on the Earl of Shaftesbury to relinquish rights and ownership of the Lough and return it to public ownership; further calls for a cross-departmental body to be set up to address the immediate issues facing Lough Neagh; and calls on the Executive to put in place a new management structure and plan to include input from communities and organisations with an interest in the welfare of the Lough, so that it can be managed, protected and promoted in the interest of all.

‘accepts and regrets the role that successive Executives and Agriculture Ministers have played in failing to mitigate the crisis; declares an ecological emergency on Lough Neagh and; calls on the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs to work with his Executive colleagues to put in place a new management structure based on public ownership and a plan to include input from communities and organisations with an interest in the welfare of the Lough, so that it can be managed, protected and promoted in the interest of all.’
